About me

Anita Walz is Associate Professor and the Assistant Director of Open Education and Scholarly Communication Librarian at the University Libraries at Virginia Tech where she founded and oversees the Open Education Initiative and OER grant program. She holds a masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an undergraduate degree in Economics with a minor in Philosophy from Wheaton College (IL). She has worked in government, international, school, and academic libraries for the past 21 years. Prior to her career in libraries she worked in non-profit community development and in real estate consulting.
