About me
I work as Senior Vocational Education and Training Officer with the Ministry of Technology and Science in Zambia. My roles include policy development, promotion of technical and vocational education and training (TVET), entrepreneurship development and open, distance and flexible learning. I am also the UNESCO-UNEVOC Country Co-ordinator. I also co-ordinates the Commonwealth of Learning activities in the TVET sector and I am the country representative of the e/Merge Africa Network. I have been promoting the use of OERs in the TVET space as a way of mitigating constraints of learning in a developing context. I have presented a number of papers on OERs at a number of educational conferences. I participated in the development of the OER Strategy developed by the Zambian Ministry of General Education. I have also ben involved in the development of an Open, Distance & Flexible Learning (ODFL) Strategy for the TVET sector. My qualifications are: Bachelor of Arts with Education degree from the University of Zambia (1992), Master of Business Administration from the Management College of Southern Africa (2007) and Master of Education (specialising in ICTs in Education) from the University of Cape Town (2016).
