Tonya is a longtime university teacher-turned-instructional-technologist with a master’s in Data Analytics and Visualization from Maryland Institute, College of Art, and a doctorate in Literature from the University of Michigan. Currently, she is working with colleagues on a federally-funded
grant project to develop a new kind of digital OER platform providing text-based materials for the college classroom in a format that maximizes the affordances of the web. Her scholarly research focuses on digital humanities and 18th century British culture, and she’s published on visual learning, contortionists in 18th century England, farce as an embodied form of early modern theater, and horror film. Her master’s project at MICA was
longlisted for the 2022 Information Is Beautiful (IIB) awards. She loves cats, reading, and handmade pottery.
