2024 Open Education Conference

I am the OER Reference Specialist responsible for coordinating and administering OER at Mt Hood Community College. I connect faculty and staff with opportunities for grant funded OER development, adoption and training; manage the college Library Press on the Pressbooks platform; promote textbook affordability and open education to both instructors and students; and serve on statewide committees fostering collaboration on OER projects across disciplines and institutions.

I have been a librarian since 2007 in both community college and public library settings, focusing on reference and instruction. Along the way I became more involved with OER and accessibility.

In 2017 I was the artist-in-residence for EveryLibrary, combining my love for both libraries and cartooning.

I have two grown children and a grandchild. I draw webcomics and play guitar for fun.
