Gabby Hernandez is the Open Education Librarian at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. There she coordinates the Textbook Affordability Project which supports the advocacy and implementation of open educational practices at UTRGV. With a background as a K-12 educator, she brings a unique perspective and understanding of the importance of equitable access to education. She has also served on various external committees and spoken at conferences to advance OER in Texas and beyond.
